If you didn't have a Rover . . . ?

I love my Rover 3500S and am well pleased I bought it.

Out of interest, if you guys didn't have Rovers (or are lucky enough to have more than one classic), what other car would you buy?

I am fortunate to also have a Datsun 260Z which I treasure.

What else would I like to have in my stable? A Volvo P1800S (like the Saint used to drive), a Triumph Dolomite Sprint and maybe a 60s Ford or Vauxhall with column change (Zodiac or Victor). Money no object I would have a 70s Maserati - either the Merak or the Khamsin.

So how about the rest of you?

Well that's got to be a Rover P5 coupe in black but if money was no object maybe an Ac Cobra would be nice ;)

That's easy, Just saw a 1927 Rolls Royce Phantom 1 I would die for, all original and unrestored.

Cobra 427 Up Valley 008.jpg I HAVE been plugged into a Cobra (kit) by pal who maintains high end collections and needs occasional help shutteling back to his shop!

had plenty of cars.... ones i havent that i'd like off the top of my head.... stag, p5 6 pot, p4, BMW 3.0CS, jowett javelin. SD1 vitesse, manta A, vauxhall royale, VX4/90. currently swapping our other cars round i've ended up with an NA impreza wagon. Really like it. tight quick and responsive drive - the turbos must be brilliant. Ask me on a different day and i'll give you a different bunch of answers :D

I do sometimes wonder how I'd get on with a Reliant Scimitar GTE.
A big Triumph estate would be useful. And entertaining in 2500S or PI form.
And I drooled at all the Jensens around Cropredy the other week. One of those with a more efficient modern V8 in that vast engine bay could tick a lot of boxes.

Jensen is definitely on the list

I have several cars with at the end the Rover brand (land-rover), but if i had the money i would love a Shelby Cobra and a Scammel explorer.

Early quattro, Mk1 Granada and VX4/90 coke bottle style :) Oh and a Mk 1 transit, SWB.

That'll do me

Obviously the Kawasaki Z1, but then I already have one of those :)

I might add that I already have a Series 3 Land Rover 109 truck cab (pickup); Triumph Vitesse MkII saloon (which I will get back on the road one day...) and Ferguson TED20. All of these make good companions for the P6.

1949 Daimler Barker Special Sports - I fell in love with a new one at the age of 8 and I'm still loyal!
Gloriously voluptuous handbuilt body and the sublime pre-selector transmission.
Sadly it is also overweight, based on pre WW2 technology and has Hydro-mechanical brakes (a hybrid that incorporates the worst aspects of each system) -but
Oh, what style ! !

I've always fancied something big from the USA that's completely impractical. Either that or a Mk1 Cortina. Always liked the Mk1 from when we had a 1965 estate version. Still in my dad's garage with a 1966 one too.

:Dyeah that car just seems supernatural.
I have noticed a few copies of that car around NZ as well at least 2 different ones I have seen in my city alone.
