I think something has worn out

I don't know if the two elements are related but when going over sort of shallow notches in the road i get a rattling from the back end. I've had the car a couple of years and it's always done it. It sounds a bit like a pram

Also on on shallow rutted road i feel the wheels kind of bounce or vibrate up and down as if the shocks are worn out. I think it does this both on the front and the back

I'm not overly familiar with what may wear out / need replacing in the suspension but i thought i would ask here before buying things

Check shock absorber bushes as a start.

ok, how do you go about checking them? Do you just grab the shock absorber and see if moves about?

Sounds like suspension. Also check the three hanging diff bushes.

One of My diff hanger bushes was badly aligned so I replaced all of them. The LHS was badly sagged, where the RHS was like new. These are the long type - 578080, vs short 539042. The whole rear end needs inspection - lots of bushes.
