I entered and would have cherished it.

I thought it was a woman who won it? I would say they like to read about classics but don't like to own them. The car should have gone to someone who would have at least taken it to some shows first and enjoyed a summer in her before moving it on. Like any classic owner / lover would have even if the P6 was not their bag.

Perhaps the winner wanted to get rid of it before it fell apart ?

I thought the Practical Classics Westfield had already been won but it's being rebuilt .What a testimony to the team who put it together in the first place

I wonder also if the doors will fit their Mk2 Jag after the shell went out of shape ?

On the subject of the Practical Classics P6B, when the first pictures of it appeared on their website forum, (before the hideous tales of its unreliability surfaced) I couldn't help pointing out (being the sad anorak that I am) that the centres of the wheeltrims should be black rather than stainless as they were on that car. It was tongue in cheek, but they seriously got out of there prams, telling me to get a life etc. (Fair comment I'll agree!) and that it wasn't a full restoration, only an excercise in how to get a cheap car and make it useable and reliable for use.

When the car was offered as the competion prize, suddenly all those postings mysteriously disappeared, and it had undergone a full and comprehensive restoration, and as such was a wonderful prize.

In my view it was neither fully restored, nor reliable.
