Hub Decals

New Old Stock examples come up occasionally at a price, but I had similar ones remanufactured for the P6 Club about 10 years ago. They are still available. They're made of domed resin so have a deeper lustre than the original types. Available from their regalia page.

Ha ha
Reminds me of the time I needed to fit some new guides to a pair of heads. The night before I managed to slip the packet of new guides in the freezer, under a bag of peas.
Management was due to go out the next day, careful measuring revealed that if all the shelves and sides of the oven were removed a Rover cylinder head would go in and be able to be heated to 250 deg.
Trouble was, there’s a lot of guides, and the heads needed returning to re heat, and time dragged on, and well….
I got caught !
You didn’t actually mention your outcome ?

I was not caught in the act but when 'her indoors' came home to 4 sparkling hub caps on her worktops, she was not a happy bunny.

I think she put two and two together as I has left the cutlery basket in the sink!

Not so long ago I decided to paint my valve covers with red wrinkle finish paint, hoping it would increase the Ferrari factor under my bonnet. I could just fit them into the oven. I thought I was being well clever using some garden wire to make 'handles' with which to be able to handle the valve covers without touching the freshly baked paint, but I didn't count on the zinc coating on the wire burning off and making such an absolutely awful and no doubt highly toxic smell! It lingered in the kitchen all weekend, despite having all the doors and windows open. My missus was not impressed.
