Hi I'm New!

Hi everyone, my name is Jim and I am new :D

I will be the proud owner of a Rover P6 3500S in the next couple of weeks & can't wait. I have been moving in Classic Ford circles for a few years now, but have always loved ALL classic cars... especially the british ones. There is a small story to tell, which will explain why I have decided to buy a P6.
Back in 1972, my grandad bought a brand new P6 3500S in White. I always hoped I would have this passed down to me, but around 8 years ago, my nan & aunt decided to sell it. While I am writing this, I am thinking that perhaps it may well belong to a member on here, so I would love to hear from you. The car in question is a P6 3500S with a dark brown vinyl roof and was picked up from SE London. Reg Number was MUD 16.

Anyway, back to my one. I went to look at it on Monday and fell in love. We have arranged a price and I am currently waiting for it to be MoT'd before I pick it up. It's a K reg 1972 car with about 80.000 miles on the clock, white with black roof, and a lovely engine. The gearbox has a small issue with not changing down to second until you have pretty much stopped, but I am getting a reconditioned box thrown in with the sale.

I also own a 1960 Ford Anglia 105e & a 1983 Ford Capri 2.8 Injection :D

Thanks for reading, and if you know of the whereabouts of my grandads old car, I would love to hear from you

Heres a pic of my new ride:

Can't see your face in the picture :D

Hello and welcome, USUALLY we're a really friendly bunch, must have cought everybody snoozing !

If you have a search round the forum you might find some info on the gearbox problem, never had a V8 Auto myself, can't remember if this issue can be kick-down cable related. If you post a question in the gearbox section you should get a decent response.

Good Luck ! and make sure you post some more photos once you get it.

Errrrrrrrr....................................If it's a 3500S that'll be a manual then. :? (Exports don't count! :) )

Either way do a search for the problem, if you can't find anything start a new thread and we'll see if we can sort something.

Hi Jim! I've seen you on the Anglia forums (I'm 60deluxe on there)... So a P6 AND an Anglia..., All I can say is SNAP! Me too! (Neither is on the road though)...

MUD 16

My database shows that she was up for sale via advertisement P6 NEWS 12/1992 --- 2.000 GBP.

Unfortunately I don´t have any more info.
