Evening all. Best introduce myself then, Dom here and I live right at the top end of Warwickshire.
So I had 2 Rover P6 cars back in my yoof, a 4 cylinder and then a V8. I recall some things even though it was 35 years ago, mostly the comfort was sublime and that both were rather needy mistresses.
Anyway, I’m looking to get back in the saddle with a nice P6 to use as my daily. I joined a FB group so guess quite a few of you are on here too.
Originality isn’t my thing, I certainly don’t want to go back to junk like points and condensers so there will be updates along the way. It will probably be a V8 due to many years of that engine in various Range Rovers meaning I can rebuild them in my sleep and they are super simple to add things like injection.
Probably going for a manual, and probably 5 speed conversion as well. i need this to cruise comfortably on motorways. Not made up my mind completely yet.
The first hurdle is rebuilding my workshop after the floor cracked back in January. Welding up the various steel sections this weekend if it doesn’t chuck it down again. After that the search for the right car will start in earnest.
anyway, nice to be here. Cheers. Dom.
