Just bought my first old Rover, been messing with cars for over 30 years but never owned a Rover somehow.

Anyway, I have a '65 2000 P6 to play with now. It's in pretty good nick and would probably MOT with some minor jobs (headlamp, brake refresh etc) but I'm going to do some mods first.

better brakes, more power, improved handling but keeping the cars character as much as possible. I will start a project thread when work starts.

Hi I am pretty similar really. Ive got my first classic rover. I am slowly working through the niggles I have found and slowly shes getting better. Also not far from you in Herts.

Welcome. You'll likely not need "better brakes" as a mod, just get the standard ones 100%. These cars had the best brakes of period. Handling wise "Steve's ARB" and heavy duty rear springs sorts most of that for £200 or so...

I'm after about 300bhp eventually to wake the old girl up a bit so the stock ones wont cut it, may well change over a dual circuit set up as well as I'll probably be moving the servo anyway. :)

I had stock brakes on a Cortina with 220bhp for a while, they worked OK once but then they needed a long rest before they'd work again. ;)
