Hi all!

I’m a Swede with a long-standing appreciation for British cars and motorcycles. At the moment, I’m building a replica of an Austin Healey 3000, powered by a Rover 3.5-litre V8 and a LT77 gearbox. Some might call it an unholy combination, but to me it brings together the best of two brands. I look forward to learning from and contributing to the forum.

Best regards,
Mikael

Welcome! At least with that engine gearbox combination the Healey should handle better than the original....IMHO. Plenty of knowledge about both items available here.

Welcome
You will have great fun with that combination of engine / body.
I have a 289 Cobra replica with 3.9 power and LT77. The most rewarding up grades from stock were deleting the rear leaf springs and making up a four linked rear end and fitting coilovers, and at the front deleting the lever arm shocks and going to double wishbone + coilovers.
If you are still at the build stage and have the option to modernise the suspension then it will increase your enjoyment of the car greatly.
My car has 205/70/15 tyres and I run a 3.07 rear axle, the gearing is perfect. Because of the low weight the car gets away very briskly and has the legs for motorway work as well.
Do seek out the other marques section, this is at the top of the members projects page on here. This was kindly created to allow non conformists like us to show what we are up to with Rover parts.
