Hi everyone, my names John, I currently live in London but are from New Zealand originally. I have a P5b and P6b in both countries! Recently bought my P6b, need help on getting my paint colour matched as the tag isnt there anymore... Anyone with any knowledge would be great! Thanks!

Hi John, great to have you here. Have you checked out Rudiger's website, as it has a pretty comprehensive list of p6 colours...

Hi mate. Thanks got your reply. Yes I checked this website last night, and I'm going with its tumeric rather than almond. However it's saying tumeric wasn't introduced until 1975. Mines a 72. There's the rub... don't want to commit to buying paint unless I know that's right? Thanks.

Looks Almond to me.... Many seem to fade more than yours but given the limits of digital photography and the auto balance everything in most cameras it's difficult to tell.

Tumeric is/was rare anyway as were most of the run-out colours like Atlantis etc.

And as with any old car you'll need a spectrum analyzer match anyway to account for fading. It won't be either colour "out of the can".

You might be able to tell from a comparison of the colour inside the boot lid or behind the inner door panels if your car has been previously repainted, or has faded noticeably. Will you be giving it a complete repaint?

Hello John, welcome to the forum :)

Very nice Rover that you have there, and yes to me it also looks like Almond.

Hope you enjoy the forum!

Ron.

Looks Almond to me too John. I have an Almond P6 and yours looks the same in the paint dept.

That looks Almond to me. I don't think it's been resprayed Turmeric (sometimes spelt Tumeric by Rover ;)). They're similar colours at first glance, but, to me, Turmeric appears to be 'deeper' and more yellow.
