I know this sounds daft, but I've just done my heater box replace motor and matrix and cleaned the box up a bit. I took the temp and distribution levers out but I'm not sure how they slot back in from the dash. Do they slot in the furthest away from each other? Also I don't know why but the Distribution lever is just loose.

I'm not quite sure what you mean, but AFAIK all the levers are designed so that they'll only fit one way.

Where the levers go in the hole has 2 metal splines so do the levers go to the left of these or 1 left the other right wish I took a picture

If you mean this connection, they both fit on the same side


Where they come out of the centre console, there are springs to stop them flopping about, they need to be on the outside of these. Does that help?
