Hi There, I finally managed to join the Forum, so I thought I'd say hi. I've been a member of the P6ROC for some time, having rebuilt my 3500 Auto from an unfinished restoration project back in 2002. Since the rebuild, she has covered over 6000 Miles and still drives like a new car, (compared to the 2000TC). I took the V8 to the SERR & Duxford Shows this year and enjoyed them immensely. The TC was bought in June as I was in need of a cheap daily driver, and as she is tax exempt, and I'm getting around 26 - 28 MPG out of her, she fits the bill nicely. I have several jobs to do on the TC, she has a very bad Clutch Judder, several suspension rattles and the Steering has a mind of its own but that's all part of the fun. Since buying this car I've covered 1400 Miles in it. The P5B was bought back in 1996 and at one time was a daily driver (when Petrol was much cheaper).... She has been in storage since 2003 and really needs a full restoration. I've started stripping panels off and replaced the Boot Lid but that's about all so far. This will be a long term project, when time and funds allow.

Are there any other P6ROC Members in the Sussex area? I live in Pound Hill (Crawley) and I'm always on the lookout for other P6's but never see any on the road any more (There was one just up the road from us, an L Reg Almond 2000TC "RYB141L" but that one has disappeared now). I'm also a Rover P5 Club Member and attend thier Regional Meetings at the Royal Coach in Shoreham on the second Wednesday of the Month.

Cheers
Mick

Welcome to the forum, glad you managed to join in the end, it's been a bit of a nightmare getting it sorted but looks like we're ok now.
Have you checked the regional meetings section on the main website for meetings near you ?

Welcome Mick! Sure you'll enjoy it on this forum..and having rebuilt your V8 I'm sure you'll have lots of wrinkles to contribute too!

Hi Stan

Thanks for the update on the 2000TC. Funnily enough, I once met the owner of this car, back in 2005 when I was driving my V8 back from my Parents in Purley. The chap pulled out ahead of me and I followed him to a local Golf Course (Effingham Park). He was a retired Policeman who had owned the car for years. I ended up playing Golf with him a few days later, and incidentally giving him a replacement Rear Wing from my spares stock as one of his was a bit ropey. I then lost touch with him and only saw the car again earlier this year when it was being driven around by a young chap who had it parked at some Offices in Pound Hill. It's nice to know that it is still around somewhere.

Cheers
Mick

Hi Richard

I checked for local meetings but there are none in my area. There used to be a meet in Horley, which I went along to some years ago when I had a Series 1 V8 Auto (sadly scrapped due to base unit rot).

Cheers
Mick
