Hi to you All around the World.

I was once a member on the forum and it has been some considerable time now since i have last been on, I kindly had my user name and log on details confirmed (cheers Richard)

So nearly 13/14 years ago a bought a sorry Rover P6 2000 TC 1973 (Just found out no road TAX WAYHAY!!) in Glasgow. A good Lad called Colin helped me with advice about the car and set about getting it back on the road following some main body repairs and a new lick of paint. I then relocated to Devon and didn't really use the car for much and as usual life takes over and she got a little neglected. some 12 years later after doing the repairs she is now back with me after spending nearly 5 years in a garage in Devon and i now live in Doncaster. The car was arranged to be a supprise for me on my 40th Birthday on the 11 of April, the first time i had seen her for about 4 years it was a great surprise and no surprise she was delivered on the back of a flat bed got a little emotional... LOL! I will include the pictures of the covert mission i was given from friends and family that brought her back to me.

I would love to know if there are any members in or near Doncaster i could meet and hopefully get the old bird up and running again. She is on axel Stand awaiting new front calipers and an overhaul of the rear's.

In this time i have learnt a valuable lesson on the back of my zero knowledge around painting that preparation is everything and now i am in the same place i was, body panels wise 14 years ago. Hopefully the attachment has worked and here she is. Look forward to some graft and nice days driving. Cheers All Chris Wright

Good to hear the old girl is still alive.

For the rear brakes. Mark Grey does Stainless pistons and refurbs at a reasonable price. Sadly Ian Wilson passed away he used to trade parts in the Doncaster area.

Looking forward to seeing your progress.

Colin

Thanks All

Colin not looked like that for a while same goes for the car LOL. Good to know you are still hard at it,the P5 looks amazing well done you!
Not sure what to do next time round for the colour, as Black was a bad colour as far as finish goes but I do like it with the chrome. Iy would be nice to find some actual colours on line to get an idea for an original rover colour.

Hop to see you around on the forum folks

Cheers Chris

Have a look on Rudigers website. There is some lovely blues and I like the NZ colours saffron etc

I have had a few cars in the meantime, which required restorations. An old mini, SD1 vitesse, 3500s p6. I wish I had kept them all. Not sure why but the mini and the vitesse haven't been MOT'd since I sold them which is a shame after the work I put in. The 3500s lives and is getting a bit of TLC. My 2200tc is still a work in progress but needs more welding than it did a few years ago though

Hi Marcus

Cheers for that mate, would be nice at some point to catch up with you when your out and about, whereabouts are you? I live just on the edge of Doncaster in Kirk Sandall. I am currently working on the back end at the moment, I intend to take the rear suspension off and give it a good cleanup and get it treated as not to let the rot go any further might as well while the rear calipers are off for a rebuild, while I am at it just going to pickup some little area's that are showing signs of starting to go and stop it in its tracks. PM me if yo want to exchange contact details.

Chris
