Im going to re&re my heater box this winter and I can’t seem to find replacement seals, does anyone make them?
I would also like to upgrade the heater fan,I see a Metro fan is an option but living in Canada that won’t work as they weren’t sold here, any other options?
Cheers,John

If you mean the foam prices on the flaps etc I did this recently, just used a sheet of closed cell foam of correct thickness and contact adhesive. The old foam was just dust. Watch out for the mixture of rivets and screws, or maybe that was just mine! A really satisfying job great heating now, but a bit if a pain getting it back in.

I took on my heater as part of my rebuild project. I looked for a replacement fan and motor based on advice in other threads. Also being in Canada, I determined that it was going to be too difficult. So I rebuilt the motor, including replacement brushes, cleaned the fan thoroughly and it works well. I sourced the seal that goes between the bottom of the heater and the base unit on eBay and made all of the other seals/flap covers from appropriate thickness closed cell foam I ordered through Amazon. As noted above, there are a crazy mixture of fasteners holding the whole thing together.

So what else needs to come off to get the matrix out?

I removed the end panel (top in your photo). I assume that there is a way to force the matrix out but this seemed a better way, especially as it had to be removed to replace the foam on the flaps. Photo attached.Heater-29.jpg

I found adhesive backed foam in a roll at my hardware shop, approx correct thickness. Watch out for the core having one end ballooned/bulged - a sign the 2 pass system is not working. I got my core out without pulling the sides of the case off, just a little careful bending.

I've got two heater boxes in pieces at the moment, and will make one decent one out of the two. It's a fun job, drilling out the old rivets and screws.
