"Hazel" - a series 1 V8 daily driver

@Phil Robson Are you using white LEDs for the side marker lights? They look really bright in comparison to your headlights.

I am, but the ‘headlights’ are now halogen bulbs with a small sidelight in the bowls, which are on in this picture.

With BOP, the extra sidelights are LEDs which look much better & are brighter for ‘running lights’.

Re your front shockers, can we ask make and model please? Cant find a listing in Woodhead-Monroe for the fronts.

I think it was these, from "Roverpart" in London, although my ebay purchase history says 'similar item' :hmm:

At the time I queried which were the right ones for a V8 & I think they're a little broader than the 4cyl ones. They work fine, whatever they are, although I don't tend to drive the car 'on the limit' ;)

The other MOT fail point on Hazel was very minor in terms of repair work required, although I suppose the issue itself could be serious.

I've been putting up with a driver's door push button that's been sticky for a number of years, gradually getting to the point that I sometimes had to use the passenger door  . This of course could lead to difficulties in someone getting occupants out in a crash situation, so I was being a bit daft really.

I was thinking I'd have to strip the door to get everything cleaned & re-greased to free it off. However, I had a look a few days ago & removed the push button assembly, which is clearly where the problem was (here it is in its stuck position):

A quick disassembly, thorough clean up & re-grease cured it immediately. The rest of the mechanism was fine, but I did lubricate it too.

I thought this was interesting for us Rover geeks - a rubber gasket/ring so that the button springs back softly:

Typical Rover.....;)
