You've probably realised from the user moniker I'm not a Rover owner.
So why join? Well I was researching about electronic ignition and the search lead me here. Reading a few more threads and a couple of hours later. I figured there were quite a few smart cookies on here. So it made sense to join.
I drive a 1975 Saab 96 which is generally in good order. At the moment I'm overhauling the brakes and the interior needs tidying.

Welcome! Actually my wife and I’d daily drivers are Saabs so you’re close!
Post pics of your car!
What sort of electronic timing are you thinking of? IIRC the 96 used the Ford V4 yes?

Hi, yes the engine is the Ford V4 which I believe was used in the early transit vans.
AccuSpark do an electronic ignition converstion for several different makes including the Saab.
What models are you driving? Mines had an upgrade on the Carb and exhaust since the pictures.

James.

Doesn't always follow

I owned a Mk1 Transit once and it was fitted with the 2L V4, but I believe there was a 1700 as well. I blew it up and fitted a 3L Essex instead.

Hi, Yes I did the same. The UK Transits used the Essex version of the V4 and V6. The German market, and the Saab's used the German Cologne versions of the V4 and V6. Our later Granada and Capri also used Cologne V6 version.
