Good looking monza red 3.9 powered

Does look nice. The carburettor I feel is too large for the engine, especially for a road going car where low down throttle response and reasonable fuel consumption would be wished for.

Price would be around $21,000 here in Australia, expect a long time if ever for it to sell.

Ron.

It's interesting to see how long it takes for these top money cars to sell. Though unless the new owner is known or reports back here, there's no way of telling if it has been a genuine sale or simply withdrawn or actually sold for a lower price.

My 3500S has this carburettor (and the same camshaft and LT77 as well) - when it was fitted it blew the rope seal clean out of the crank. If I could turn the clock back I'd never have done this 'upgrade' - cars aren't like women and they don't appreciate the motoring equivalent of gold watches and bracelets, which is pretty much what it was.

However, now that it is configured correctly, I am thrilled with it - I'm sure my car is one of the quickest and fastest P6s with a 3528cc engine.

As for the price of the car on offer, the seller has fallen for the folly that ££££ spent on the car = ££££ on the asking price - complete bollocks of course.

Nice car, but it was initially sold earlier in the year for around the £4000 mark, which is about what I'd value it at.

Continuing on with this theme, I know I should have the car myself (but due to not being allowed access to my own money at the time, I don't), there has been a similar scenario with Nick Dunning's old 2200 auto, HUC497N.

He sold the car, for £2000 to someone who did some work to it, but unfortunately fell ill. Nick then sold the car on his behalf, for £2000 again. The next person to own the car only had it for a few months, before selling it to a dealer who then advertised it for about £3200. It was then sold to yet another dealer who then advertised the car for around £5000. All this happened from early 2010 through to late 2012.
