Hi Dave

Their data is a bit American, but if you know if takes the same size plug as something else, I might be able to suggest something for a P6.

Cheers

The sump plug for the P6B has the same thread as those fitted to Rover V8 powered Land Rover Defender, Land Rover Discovery and Range Rover.

Hi Dave

I'm not sure, but I spoke to our supplier yesterday and he is working on better information for European cars and is also importing a lot of imperial sizes for classic cars.

Cheers

You could do something similar yourself with the neodymium magnets from an old, dead hard disc drive.

Put them on the oil filter though, not the sump - that way the swarf gets removed with the filter.

2-3 such magnets are standard issue on all my cars' oil filters - being a I.T. tech means these magnets are never in short supply.

I'm not familiar with the 4cyl sump plugs, but the V8 sump plug thread is an imperial pipe thread being 1/2" BSP.

1/2" BSP with 14 tpi (tpi = threads per inch)(BSP = british standard pipe)(1/2" size refers to the bore of the pipe of which the thread is cut onto the outside diameter of the pipe, 1/2" is not the outside diameter of the thread itself)

Latest Land Rover and Range Rover vehicles will have metric threads for the sump plugs but the sump plugs referred to above have metric thread dimensions, so will NOT fit the P6B.

The 4cyl P6 may well use the same thread form as the V8, namely a BSP thread, but best confirm with thread guages first.
