Simplest is to put a battery isolator switch into the starter motor feed wire or a smaller switch into the starter motors relay wire. Ships chandlers carry them as do motor shops.
From there you just keep adding stuff. Next step is a flasher can and hidden push button. push of the button activates can until it switches off, giving you time to start engine.
The little flashing LED can be found as a kit in electronic stores. It is an excellent deterrent regardless of whether it does or doesn't do anything else. Crooks go elsewhere rather than risk it...

Similar to @mikecoombs point I've used the following remote battery isolator which is pretty cheap, easy to fit & seems to be working well so far (and easy to remove if any issues).
