furflex types

Hi there,
I have to replace the furflex door frame beading and notice that the front appears different from the rear?
The front is a plain "U" channel , but the rear seems to have a bit attached to one side of the "U"channel.
Is this correct or am I imagining things?
Would ordering the plain "U" channel for the whole car do the job or do I have to specify both kinds from Wins?

they are indeed different. You will also find there is a variety of constructions available. the rover has a moon shaped rubber cap on top of the wire and under the fur. Most of the new stuff has the fur directly on the wire, without the rubber. there are also differences in how the wire is stitched together. From Memory Wins do have the correct stuff for P6, he will tell you if he doesn't. Classic and European in Melbourne also sell it but it is slightly different though available in a variety of colours.

Thanks mike for the info,
that Classic and European in Melbourne is an amazing site with so much variety that it make choosing the correct one more difficult.
Will have to send them an email and see what they have to offer and also contact Winns for the same.

From memory Geoff at Wins only had the single thickness i.e., the front door and front of the rear door aperture type, not the double needed for the rear. If you are able to source the latter could you please post details.

now that we have established that there are indeed 2 types needed, does anyone have a picture of the double type for the rear part of the openings?

Actualy there are 3 types involved. The narrowest is for the A post, the medium for the B/C ones and the thickest for the D post. As far as i know reproduction only covers the two most narrow types. Please have a search in the forum for previous posts about furflex. We have discussed it many times in the past.
