Front Suspension Top Link Question

Looking at the illustration of the front suspension in the service manual I see reference to a mysterious 'set bolt'. The outer top link mounting bracket (pivot block) has a 3/8 threaded hole and the illustration shows the following for that hole:
"Set bolt (3.8 in. UNF x 1 3/8 in. long) fixing stiffeners to outer mounting brackets".

So my question is: what are these stiffeners? I don't have either the bolt in the hole or the stiffeners. Hopefully someone can help me out here, perhaps with a photo of the stiffeners or explain what the stiffeners are for. Thanks in advance for any help.

Please excuse my previous post. I must be losing it;-) I just noticed the stiffener shown on the diagram in the service manual so now, at least, know what it looks like. I guess the question now is, what is the stiffener for and would its absence make any difference in handling?

I think I know the bit you mean, visible in this photo:
They were only fitted to earlier cars up to about 1967. That picture is of my '67 NADA but my early '68 doesn't have the brace or and of the holes to mount it.
Not sure what purpose it served but was presumably a case of over cautious Rover engineering because it was deleted without and adverse effects.
