Front screen spacers

Hi,

Does anyone have the thickness of the front windscreen spacers which go under the bottom channel. When I removed my screen for rust repairs there was none. NZ assembled car, maybe we didn’t fit these? The rear screen has a hard nylon spacer ~10.5mm at the center.

Many thanks
Craig

That's because they've been left out. Neoprene distance piece, 367446. They go directly above the jacks, between the lower rubber channel and the foam seal. I can't say on the size though.

When I removed the screen it was firm against the formed rubber piece with the demister vents. Under this formed rubber was the foam seal stuck to the base unit. This seal looks to be 5/8” square section. So the screen presses down on the formed rubber piece which compresses the foam seal and seals up any gaps.

The foam seal was not fully compressed so I guess then that the formed rubber piece only moves so far on top of the dash metalwork and this sets the position of the screen.?

I think I’ll just put it all back together as it was with a new foam seal.

The screen is not meant to press down on the formed rubber. From what I recall, the blocks are something like a half inch thick. I did a windshield last year, I'll see if I have a picture.

Just checked, no pics :(

I just happen to have mine available to measure as I am putting the car together from a complete base unit strip down. The blocks measure 10 mm thick. The photo attaches shows how mine were positioned as I pulled things apart. front windscreen bottom seal neoprene block RH.jpg front windscreen bottom seal neoprene block.jpg

Mine measure out at 10 mm thick, 10 mm wide and 25 mm long. For anyone trying to reproduce these, they are fairly dense. When I squeeze them with the caliper (very firmly), I get less than 1 mm of compression.
