FRONT OF CAR BADGES?

I notice that some P6 owners have five or so badges mounted on some sort of steel frame in front of the cars front grill, what are these called and where does one obtain them? It really finishes off the look of the car IMO...

Badge bars. Fine on a pre-war car or an MG TF but the P6 was a high-tech car and looked towards the future, originally with thoughts to an aerodynamic front end. Although it was available as a dealer-fit option, it looks very "faux retro" to me, more for showing off recent club badges than a return to 1960s and 70s motoring. I certainly never remember seeing any back in the day.

Makes the clean lines of a P6 look cluttered like your grandma's mantlepiece IMHO.

I really dont like them... but plenty do. Just search for badge bars and you should find what you're looking for.

Me neither but beggars and choosers and so on. I'd happily swap this V8 front bumper with badge bar for a similar example without one.

WXC's (Hildegarde) present front bumper was purchased cheaply on eBay - it is perfectly straight but someone has thoughtfully scratched "NO BATTERY" across it and I reckon the badge bar is better than graffiti.

I took mine off - its sitting in the shed , full of period badges . Too much bling on the old girl for my liking !!

I don't think they were specifically a Rover P6 thing, I imagine there must have been lots of different types available at the time.

I can't say as I like 'em either, some people must though - what ever floats your boat.

did you ever get any Justinus? they make me cringe personally, agree with GRTV8 better off without them
