Found this on Youtube

Seen that before ,it is a good film ,it also show the amount of paperwork involved  and that there has always been traffic jams

2nd July 1975.
The shooting mentioned in the briefing at the start of the film was on 1st July 1975.
Inspector Emlyn Watkins eventually recovered but had to leave the force as a result of his injury.
He was awarded the George Medal and the incident led to the break-up of an IRA assassination squad.

Looks, (to me), something like YYK341M

Is it one you think you know?
Wishful thinking really...
I thought could it be mine ? - same colour - early series 2 - large letters to L/H boot lid - right time period and not far away.
Too quick to read reg when playing and unclear when frozen - except 34 (my reg GAN 340J)

Mark.

just checked out that film clip. interesting though obvious staged 'pull in's of motorists ' ( officers out of uniform? )
know some of the roads they were using .lived in that area for years around that time so may even have seen that car about ( plus blue ones) also had a brother in police whom drove a traffic car ( possibly even that one ?) looked like Chadwell station ? though the early dual carriageway with hills was at barking section of old A13. many thanks for the posting.

well according to Baz Bazdad 2 years ago there is a correction (& additional info') = "This Met unit is TDJ (not TDK) - Chadwell Heath 'High Rd' Police Station (Eva Hart) closed before 1970, despite them using rear of building (here, in vid) - It was moved to Wangey Rd (back of Bingo-Hall) by 1969-1970 onwards, whilst the MAIN base & location of TDJ always was in Grove Rd (near the Greyhound Pub), at the Goodmayes-end of RM6 (Chadwell Heath - my house was yards away) - Building on the left at 3.28-3.30 is the 'Coopers Arms'."

anyway , brilliant film , highly enjoyable , they followed it up with a day in Traffic after the SD1s arrived

Oh dear they guy on the ground just had one cone put by his head to protect him from on coming traffic
The last part of the video I think is a stand in at 12:03 they pull the Granada over but as the P6 Police car pulls up the camera man is
already there in the lay by they would have had to indicate to the driver of the Granada to pull over then got ahead then camera man would have had to jump out set up his tripod before the Granada pulled in and the way he pulled in screeching his tyres would have been a nick lol
