Forum Finances

When I'm scanning through the new posts I tend to scroll down The Lounge missing out the top 7 or 8 entries. Thus I missed it a couple of weeks ago when the 'forum-guru' rockdemon added an entry at the top regarding the financial realities of running the Forum.
Many others may well have missed it as well.
Anyway I read through all the posts and was only too keen to support - so I looked for the 'Donate' buton and put in the same as Arthuy (Quid a month, a bargain)
If you, like me, missed the topic initially I urge you to read it.
The Donate button is at the very bottom of the login page, on the left.

Keep up the good work rockdemon - it's much appreciated!

much appreciated - just to let you know that we're now well funded into 2015 unless we get performance issues and need a faster connection or server.

Thanks for pointing that out. I had missed the donate button and now feel bad that I had. As said above, a quid a month is a bargain.
 
dont feel bad. Nobody is named etc it's entirely anonymous. Great that you have donated but there's no issue like that:)

nope - i leave it entirely open. If everybody gives a little bit now and then there is no need for big amounts so keep it small is my advice :)

At some point we will need to do another forum software update to keep it secure which will be an extra cost. I'll update you all when I do that.

has this link been updated recently, nice to know how the forum is standing in this year of 2017 , almost 2018...
perhaps the "Donate" button should be at the top and bottom of every page ?
 
I could move it sure. I kinda think that as we're getting enough donations it's OK at the moment? Happy to do whatever you guys think. The forum belongs to its users after all.

Did not know that users donated money to the forum at all ?
I used to belong to a land rover forum in australia and there was a yearly fee of $10 to keep the forum going.
Sold the landie so not a member any more.

My way of helping is that I occasionally give small items away to forum members in exchange for them promising to make a donation. All it costs me is the postage but I benefit from all the help and support on the forum and everyone is happy. Perhaps others could consider doing likewise.
