Fore/aft movement at the output flange of a BW35?

How much should the output flange of a BW35 be able to move forwards and backwards? When I had the prop removed I noticed a considerable amount of movement. Today I briefly heard a clanking again, at low speed, having swapped the propshaft at the weekend, so I'm wondering if the problem lies elsewhere...
 
Same as mine then. Thanks for the info. Reckon my 'klanking' issue is coming from the box. Manual swap planned for August!
