for the love of cars

should be good and Philip Glenester is a good character in whatever he does

(although he;ll always be DCI Gene Hunt!)

Saw that advertised and got a post it note by my chair so as not to miss it . Looks spot on :D

Heavy on the cars history, and cult following but not a lot showing what was done to it during resto!
Dissapointed!

i quite liked it... it's not a restoration show sure but tells you the atmosphere of that car etc....

I found it quite entertaining. The pro Ford propaganda was a bit strong but easily ignored. They seemed to do a thorough job of the restoration (apart from the missing radiator hose when the engine was inspected prior to starting it up and going for a drive:) ) and accepted advice to keep it original against the presenter's suggestions.

There was one or two historical glitches but better than most classic car programmes, ( i.e. no Bernie or Mike Brewer or shouty Americans). I loved it, but I would, I've a Mk1 Escort that's going wiv a sarf of the river look. (when the paint man gets his DeVilbiss out of his Aris, see I'm even getting the lingo! )

Hi, looking at the list of cars they are doing it is the usual fayre of cars that are well
catered for spares at reasonable prices. With the possible exception of the De lorean,
which I suppose used a lot of off the shelf components. They after all don't want to get
in the situation of trying to find say a fuel tank for an NSU R080.

If this first series does well, lets hope they do a second one and choose the P6. Enjoyed this first programme, all the way through I kept thinking how good the Mk1 design still looks today. I want one now...

Thought it was good , when's it on again then ?
Thought Gene Hunt sounded a bit of a lovey in real life though :D

its on sundays 8pm but its on 4od i just sent a link to my mate , we can even watch 4 od here in the republic of ireland, off to watch car sos land rover edition ,available for download via bitsnoop ,cheers all , rich

I thought the programme was good, certainly better than that Bernie and Mario rubbish on Channel 5.

I like old Escorts and wish I'd kept my purple 2dr Mk1 1300XL, but I sold it for peanuts in the early 90's.

The Mario and Bernie rubbish is staged and scripted.Their 'discoveries' are in place long before the camera starts rolling. When you think of all the enthusiasts turning out super restoration work in many cases without having anywhere near the equipment these two clowns have why do the program makers churn out such total drivel?.

I liked it gave good history on car and why people like them. Im looking forward to the mini . As i ve been on with my mini mk2 for sometime now. I just love watching the old car come back to life.
