Fan belt for 2000 SC with Dynamo

Hi all, I need a fan belt in a hurry and would prefer not to wait for mail order - does anyone know the length of belt I should be looking for for a 2000 SC with its original dynamo? It seems the subject was last discussed on the forum in 2009 and that seemed to be for alternator equipped cars!

I could take my own belt off and measure it, but it's stretched beyond the limit of the adjustment on the bracket, so if anyone has a new replacement or a catalogue cross reference that would be great.

If you set the dynamo to mid adjustment in the slot and get some tape - ie 1" wide masking tape and run a length tight around the TOP OUTSIDE of all the pulley's and mark where it overlaps then take it off carefully and lay out on a bench you can then measure the tape and it will tell you the belt length.
V belts also come in 9.5 and 13mm widths.
 
Yup. Dressmakers fabric tape would work, not many guys I know keep one of those. A steel tape wont work as it is a job to bend accurately.
 
I always use a steel tape rule, loop it round and pull it tight and it conforms. The other thing I do is push the generator in as far as it goes to measure to allow for initial stretch and re-adjust.
 
Been caught out measuring with the gen right in, if you order a belt to fit the absolute tight size and it wont go on then the only recourse is to unbolt the gen and fiddle the pulley into the belt, not ideal, at least if you allow for movement both ways the belt will fit. Lets face it, if you start half way and the belt stretches all the way to max over time then it needs replacing anyways.
 
Why not just phone Wins? He'd have one to you first class overnight. Doubt you'll find one any other way.

That's exactly what I did in the end, and Geoff got me sorted. For the record, the belt that arrived (which fits perfectly) has the part number AVX10X0905LA. I imagine this means it's 10mm x 905mm.
