Item 4595386227 on ebay.

According top description itsan unfinished project.

Its a series 1 3500 auto.

Dont be tempted to pay too much - they are a severe money pit!! with even more built in water traps and rot risk spots than the standard P6

The quality of the conversion is poor.

Having said that I have 2! - A daily use 3500S and an unstarted project of a 3500 auto.

Love em to bits

H, thanks for the response, i saw the car this morning, you mentioned the conversion is poor, what do you mean by this? is it just that particular vehicle or the coach-building company?

Cheers

Matthew

The estate conversion in general. Mainly held on with pop rivets and also the drainage routes for the water at the rear are blocked! as part of the conversion. How any survived I do not know - But over I think 60% have.

There was a thread on here a while back. Try a search under "estate" lots of info about them.

(Also do a google or Jeeves search under "Rover P6 estate")

all estates were conversions Matthew, unfortunately rust proofing wasn't thought of as an issue when they were done, and given the names that did the conversions (panel craft, HR Owen) the quality of the work was very very poor. almost as if they had used the cars as training for apprentices, this and the P6's love of water traps and rust spots makes the estates hard work to restore, and a bit of a money pit. For a car that is so rare, they will cost many times the value to restore properly. Having said that, they are stunning and I want one as well when funds permit.

My friend Mark Gray has a white 2200TC based estate which he is under orders to sell to accomodate new arrivals.

The car needs some structural work (sills area I believe) but isn't bad and would be a fairly easy project.

If you're interested e-mail him at

mg004d4060@blueyonder.co.uk

Or call 01902 688461. It's the white one with the EMF number plate:

Mark's Estates

EMF used to be mine, I transferred the estate conversion from a totalled 3500 to the 2200TC about 10 years ago, you will find it is welded rather than pop riveted!

Rats - I just emailed him for more info. If she is not an original - very difficult to get her registered and insured where I am

Ah well
