electronic ignition - compatible leads

As long as the coil delivers, and the cap and rotor are good, the triggering method should not affect the leads. IMHO anyway. Check your leads by running it with the bonnet up in the dark. Or connect a meter on ohms across the lead ends and twirl like a skipping rope, watching for changes in the reading.
