Hi all.
I thought I would let you all know of a car I have recently
"re-discovered". It was fully restored in 91,and locked away in 94.It has not seen the light of day till I persuaded the owner to let me see it with the chance of buying it.
Its pretty good!!!
It is a 1970 early S2 2000sc auto,blue and cream leather with 63k.
It has a private plate the owner wants to sell but as always thinks its just a matter of selling it!! The car really needs an overhaul on the brakes,4 tyres, total lube replacement and a really good servicing !! and then its mot time.
He wants £1000 for it,"cos the plates worth that" he says!! dont they always have an over-inflated idea !! Anyway, I have said that "as its not been updated on the dvla computer,it may have lost its ID,or likely have the plate made non transferable when its re registered!!"
I have offered him £500 for it,Which I think is a very generous offer!!saying it needs another £500 spent on it to make it safe to use. "ie £500 = my time and spare parts to get it sorted !!" that is,if he wants me to do it for him!!
I know the private plate should be safe to transfer/sell once mot'd,But I am not about to tell him that
and, I have had it valued!! ::
My TR6 goes away for a month to be repainted this sat,so I hope he says "yes" as then I can get it in my garage and done ,hopefully before the TR is back at the end of oct!!
I will update as and when!!
