Drying my dog's balls....

My rescue labrador loves catching chasing and carrying around tennis balls .Unfortunately the balls get covered in slobber , mud and grass . I always wash her balls when we get home but the question is can I pop them in the microwave to dry them off and hopefully kill any germs
I think tennis balls are solid so I'm worrying if they may explode in the microwave .How long in an 850 watt microwave would be safe ?

I've cut tennis balls in half before and as Harvey's already said they're not solid. Could you not try them in the tumble dryer? (if you have one?) They're definitely safe enough to go in there. I've dried a few down filled jackets that way (in the tumble dryer with a tennis ball). :)

If I can stop my eyes streaming and control my convulsions for long enough I might get round to banning you Dave!

My cat Casper has a couple of balls he chases around the house. :)
When he has had enough, and has caught one,he licks it clean and cuddles up with it,thus drying it ready for the next chase!

Firstly  :LOL:very entertaining
Secondly as said they are hollow, me thinks they will pop in microwave
Thirdly how many balls does a dog need
My dog has to have the anti-chew ones she loves to chew them when she gets home

Hope no one thinks Im talking about the wife

I'd have thought the balls could melt in the microwave....

you could stop popping them by putting a small hole in them

put them in the tumble then film your dog watching them roll around and stick it on that animals funniest programme

Seriously misread that........ Had a vision involving trying to force a Labrador into a tumble drier whilst armed with a camcorder.... Gave me quite a start

In the washer with the jeans etc and into the dryer after that. Job done.
Bear in mind, a dog's mouth is far "cleaner" than ours are, so you may well be creating work for yourself.

Yeah, I've never heard a dog say f%^k or bl**$y h£ll now that I think of it.

I did what I normally do - gave one a minute at full power , took it out , thought "that's not bad " , put it back in for another minute and it started to melt with a horrible smell........
Maybe I want one of those ball-flinging devices ?
Anyhow I have enjoyed my first week with Bonnie

Did you see the programme on BBC3 , I think it was Thursday - a young girl with toy dog , taking it to have it's toe nails painted !!
The programme is about problem dogs are normally the result of bad training

Sorry Dave didn't see it, but they do drive me mad, using dogs as accessories, and keeping them in bags  what ever next??

Thought I would post a couple of pics of buffy she's. 9 years old in 3 weeks....
