Down draught (draft?) Carburettor choices.

RPI are well known for heavily pushing products that they deal with and stock, this is absolutely fair enough, they have been doing V8 engines a long while.
But you will find that it's their way or no way.

For my self I just used their excellent resource and then purchased all the components from other people soooooo much cheaper ;)

But I also relied on the advice of other Rover V8 engine authorities before deciding that the Weber was the pick of the available crop.

The other alternative in mind was the injection route which one day I might ultimately follow especially after seeing some of the systems that other well known contributors to this forum have enacted.

Yep not saying they're wrong, just they push what they sell, which is fair enough. Would love to try out a Holley Sniper but they're a bit hard to justify cost-wise.....

Yeah wusn't dissing them per say, just saying what y'all already knew. They are local to me and the local vibe is that only their stuff is good enough !
They told me 20 years ago my Opus ignition was rubbish on my Cobra and I must have one of their Mallory dual point distributors, well the Opus is still doing its thing and 236 horses from a 3.9 can't be wrong.
They provide a good service, you just need to filter the BS.

Well a bit more researching had me contact a local carb builder. Had a bit of chat with him and we're keeping the 'standard' manifold and rebuilding the 450, with upgrades to quick-change secondary spring set-up and secondary metering block as opposed to plate. Decision made, now to organise it......
