Door Skin - Difficult or easy!

Has anyone ever changed a rear doorskin before. The car I have's bodywork is in very good condition, except the nearside rear skin, which has a small rust hole and some minor collision damage. I'm not bad at spraying but have never tried panel replacement apart from un-bolting/re-bolting etc.

Might be easier to source a very good complete door, then spray to match and unbolt / bolt on.....

Have a look in the parts section of the advertisements there might be something there...

Hope this helps

Hi
Supposedly a door skin is a reasonably easy job for a compedent metal worker. Apparently the currently available skins are a good fit and bring impressive results. My runabout 2000SC is mainly in excellent shape apart from the offside doors. These are gone in the body of the door, not on the skins (although that is shabby). I'll be replacing these with a better set or doors next year from a scrap car we have that is otherwise as rotten as a peach.

Dear Mike,
I seem to remember that the Annabelles (father & son) provided a demonstration of changing door skins at the June 1992 Chatsworth Rally which was subsequently available on video. I'm not sure if these are still available.
Regards, John.
