Rubber or the original gasket paper type, which is best?

Wouldn't the rubber version extrude as the door handle is tightened up ?

Depends on when you mean original, but the series 1 cars used rubber. They were not "beaded" i.e. a little larger than the handle base. So I vote for rubber.

I got the standard "flat" gaskets all around.
Ive bought the "beaded" gaskets and am replacing the flat ones over time when handles get taken off..
The beaded ones look better IMHO. Just sayin.
