Difficulty fitting rear screen

I've run into problems fitting the rear screen. Basically I can't work out how the stainless trim trim is supposed to fit.

There is a folded edge which looks like it ought to sit inside the channel in the body, adjacent to the rubber. However if I try and fit it like this the screen won't push up far enough.

If I try to fit the trim outside of channel, purely under the flap in the rubber then it doesn't sit right at all, sitting too high at the top and too far out at the sides.

I've done a forum Search and various Google searches but can't find how this trim.is meant to go. Kicking myself for not taking pictures when it came out now, although I do remember it was quite tight to remove.

If anyone has fitted one recently, I'd be very grateful if they could tell me how it's meant to go in.

Thanks, Rob

I recently removed and reinstalled the rear screen on my car as part of it's restoration. I followed the instructions in the Rover workshop manual and it went fairly smoothly. I have a couple of photos attached of removing the SS trim after the glass and rubber seal were removed but nothing showing the reinstallation process.rear glass trim removal centre finisher - Copy.jpgrear glass bottom seal RH - Copy.jpgrear glass trim removal-1 - Copy.jpg

Thanks so much for posting the pictures.
Both the manuals I have here don't make it clear that the SS trim has to be fitted to the body first. I also realise now that the trim needs a bit of force to get it fully seated.
On a normal glass replacement the trim would stay in place, but I'd had it off to do some paintwork around the rear edge of the roof.
