Dead 2200SC...!

I have known about this car for many years... It was bought new by the old boy who owns it and he couldn't bare to part with it when he gave up driving! I offered to take it off his hands many years ago but, understandably, he wasn't interested... Being left outside without turning a wheel for the best part of ten years has left it looking a little worse for wear and it is unlikely to be driven again...!!! I don't even think it would yield any useful spares as it is shot inside & out, such a shame...!!!

that is a big shame to see a 1 owner car go like that, its a very late one aswell, looks asthough it has been a nice car at onepoint aswell, regards Bri

Maybe he sits in it to have a smoke, since it has become politically incorrect to light a cigarette in a pub/living room or anywhere!

I just wonder what the neighbours think ... he obviously doesnt live in Hampstead!! Is that not effectively waste... why do the council not take it away? I like old cars, but if I had to look at that every day, i'm afraid, I would have it removed.

Of course P6's that look rough on the outside can have sparkly base units, which is all that really matters. But this one does start with the disadvantage of being a very late one. It'll have been through the SD1 paint shop and we all know how good that was at keeping the rust at bay! And even before that the base unit is likely to have sat around outside for a long time. Even so might be worth having a closer look at the usual places on the bae unit. The bits that are so obviously tatty can be sorted easily.

I think the piece of concrete it is parked on is classed as his drive (he lives in the corner house) and as it is SORN it is totally legal as that is effectively his land...! It is a bit of an eyesore I concede but a great eyesore nonetheless...! It must be better than a burnt out Corsa...?!?!?! If only it was in one of the garages that it is parked next to it might've stood a chance...

We dragged a Turmeric 1976 2200TC in the other day. Mechanically and bodily shot, the base unit appears the best bit of it, at a glance. It will be a good spares car.

'Tis sad. Does look too far gone to me too.

Interestingly the car looks to be painted Almond, rather than the much brighter Turmeric. Possibly was resprayed early in life (as a result of the original paint falling off!)

I suspect the car sitting there served to remind it's owner of better days when he was able to enjoy it .Once he gets rid of it ,that's admitting old age has won

If that car is an auto then the towbar is a triumph of hope over experience.........
