Cutting out when gear selected

I have auto v8 p6 been sitting around abit
Starts and ticks over ok but when gear selected kind of dies slowly
Shall I just put revs up abit
 
The normal cause for that is a weak mixture. If you just increase the idle speed you risk harsh engagement. Idle speed should be 650-750 rpm. (Not using the tacho in the car).
