very very rare for a GM car to have anything but standard 4.5 PCD (or is it 4.75 I forget...one is ford the other GM). Maybe they were just buying in for the local product...
I was surprised, but I found a picture of a Cresta PC with Interceptor wheels so I tried a Rover alloy and it did fit, apart from the centre bore which was too small. They are 5 x 5 though with an offset of around 36.

From what I understand both Ford and GM in the US had their respective PCDs on most of their models but the Heavy Duty models had 5 x 5" PCD. For example Jeep Cherokees were 5 x 4.5" and Grand Cherokees from '99 on were 5 x 5". In the UK other cars that had 5 x 5" were the big Vauxhalls which you know about, also the Austin Westminster, Austin 3 litre and curiously Austin 1800 landcrab.

I was kidding mate, but thanks for the offer. Most of the work is done an hour or so at a time, when I sneak an hour off work or stay late after work.

I have been working on the front clip - that's a bit complicated isn't it?
Never did anything with these before so steep learning curve, but more about that when I have finished it, lots of piccies.
Now - wheels. I have a set of wheels from the Camaro and will be using these for the rear, 20 J10 with 285/40 tyres.
So I need something similar for the front, but smaller, I was thinking 15 x J6 like Sparky's. I have found these, but the 15x6 is only available in a 5 x 112 PCD, and the Cresta is 5 x 127 like the P6. The Offset is 43 against 36 on the Cresta so 7mm out, but I can find some spacer to push them back out if necessary.
They're not identical, but they do look nice and the contrast would suit the car well.
So how to fit 112's onto a 127?
I have heard you can get your hubs re-drilled to suit, but is that safe?
Adapters are 20mm, so will put the wheels 13mm out of line, and I don't think 7mm ones would be safe somehow.
Will a different hub fit the stub axle, say a Granada one with a 5x112 PCD?
I do have a few ideas, but just wondered if anyone on here knew a way round it that I hadn't thought of?

PS Tale of two engines - LS3 vs Rover V8. The LS3 is still sitting on its subframe so that does make it look a bit bigger

May I be so bold as to opine that neither the two wheels you have nor the similar Autec design look good!
Flog the rims you have, buy four matching rims in exactly the correct size you need, with a better design that befits your Cresta project best! Five spokes, polished finish, wink wink!

Just out of interest Richard, how will the revised DVLA rules affect you?
There will probably be a loss of historic vehicle status (presumably a bit of road tax to pay), but will the finished car need an examination & possibly a 'Q plate'?

Looking at that pic and noticing the 'slabbiness' (slab-sided-ness?), I revise my previous opinion to include similarly chunky almost disc like wheels with little apertures. Not spokes, small slots in chunky looking rims. Like Merc 'Monobloc' or Lorinser rims from early 21C 'S' class.

No idea. I'll cross that bridge when I come to it, or possibly won't bother and just race it, not sure yet.
I was thinking of either black like the Impala, or grey metallic like our van, which will be towing it around. Might look quite good with a matching towing vehicle.
I did look at the these but the offset is zero, so would make a bit of a mess with the steering.
I have done some welding at last - ok I have been doing it for a while, but it's been slow going. This bit at the top has been a right nightmare.
I did find some evidence of earlier repairs which were just tacked on then covered with some thick black goo
There's three layers in here, and all of them have rotted very badly so I've had to cut them away bit by bit and make repair panels and weld them in. The area above the large drain hole, where the air intake for the heater drains out of, folds over towards the inside of the car to form a box where the bonnet hinges bolt into. Then there's a flat piece coming down forming the other side of the box, then there's a thicker 1.2mm strengthening box all the way along the inner wing.
This is the bit I cut away from the inner piece, badly rotted and why the bonnet hinge box was full of builders foam.
Then made a panel up and welded it in.
My welding has improved a bit, just a bit, but it is certainly strong enough and none of this can be seen when the wing is back on.
Then another panel for the second skin, with a lip on it as the original had one. There is a slight bend in it so I had to relieve it with some small cuts to get it to fit.
Then the outer layer was a 1.2mm sheet, so I replaced it with the same. Now it looks a lot better than it did, I just need to replace a section of the offside floor, and a few bits at the front prior to replacing the wing.
There was a considerable amount of work under the O/s Front, but thankfully it's nearly done so I will be able to get to the N/S shortly.
Then onto the rear

I've had to rebuild the bottom of the A post, the end of the outrigger, the out rigger itself, part of the floor, inner wing, structural bracing on the inner and outside of the inner wing, front of the sill, sill itself, and more. But, it's all done and a second hand wing on.
