Cover

I stuck mine in a "CarCoon". keeps the material off the paintwork and the air flowing around the car

Internal or External?
I've had 3 external covers all good for what they are, better than no cover. All read the same in the sales ad, whereas the material, cut and fixings were all different.
I'd recommend them, but as they keep changing I can't recommend a particular one.
My external covers would each lasted a couple of years, before the holes appeared and they soon fall apart.

I've seen a CarCoon and think they are way to go, if you can.

I have used Storm force covers in the past. Well made, fitted to car model, lasted about three years before needing repairs (I live in wet and windy area). They have to be strapped tight to avoid wind moving and causing chaffing on paint. Where the straps go, under the sills, add a bit of additional padding to avoid damage there. All in all though, they did a good job and were breathable, so didn't cause lots of condensation and it's associated paint marks. I found them good for cars getting stored for a few months, but too much of a pain taking off and on for cars being sporadically used. I think they were better than nothing at all as they kept bird muck off, but prior to the covers the cars in question survived well enough due to some rust proofing done each summer. I'd use them again if I had to.

Never seen the CarCoon before, looks fantastic, along with the pricing... It will be in a decent sized garage and the idea was just to keep the dust and muck off better than an old sheet, but the CarCoon thing will keep the damp out too, and I like the sound of that. £650 or so... Ouch... But then again, if it goes some way towards keeping the rust at bay, even slightly, it might be worth it. I'll have a look at the StormForce stuff too - as I say it will be in a garage so no need to strap it down.

Thanks for the info!

got a storm force one for my son defender. it lasted about 18 month for so before holes started appearing. real faff getting it on an dit needs straps ( provided) luckily keep my rover in a dry garage. been given another internal dust cover not used yet but if w get another cover will check out reviews first. probably get what you pay for :(

I keep my car in a dry garage over winter but when I light the wood burning stove in the workshop area I noticed condensation would start to form on the Rover. I went to a couple of charity shops and bought a load of cheap blankets, threw them over the car and that done the trick

I have had a Tyvek (US) cover for over 20 years now, but only used it indoors on the 928, to keep dust and fly spots off the white paint. Bought another a year or 2 back for the p6b for the same reason. Aluminized exterior, soft interior, but 4 times the weight of the tyvek, real pain to put on. Look for the lightest you can find.
