Hello
i recently changed my slave cylinder all worked fine for about a month but now i can put the car in gear but if i keep the pedal depressed after about 20 secs the clutch slowly re-engages and wont come out of gear,if however i let the pedal up straight away i can change gear okay,i have changed the pipe between master and slave and the problem is still there i am not losing fluid.Any ideas anyone

Hi, I think the next step is the master cylinder, it's probably letting fluid back past the seals into the reservoir. It's best practice to change both at the same time, if you only change one the other gives up shortly after, as you have found.

Yep, had exactly the same symptoms with a bad master cylinder. Fluide would leak past the seal back into the reservoir in my case.

I had the same. Gave up on kits and just bought a new master and slave in the end. The slave was only about £30 from Geoff at Wins, and the master a little more. It's well worth the money, rather than messing around with rebuild kits.

Mine went a good few years ago. Found a NOS cylinder and fitted new seals to be safe. Was good for about 7 years (fitted it to Beryl after it had sat in the old car after the accident. I think the seals suffered then) so resealed again this summer when the slave went as I had a slight weep at the pushrod on the master.
