joined two clubs .one being Havering classic cars. other this one ( this was my second club join) . sadly no nearby rover meets occur though understand used to be one near Grays but no longer.
the other club I am also a member of (only £12 a year) is open to any classic car and motor bike. so hopefully i can get my own p6 3500 auto to a meet one day ( off road undergoing repairs )
they would welcome rover owners to join or if not just pop along and have a look. everything from 3 wheeler french truck to a Bentley plus yank metal go there.
club started only 2 years ago. now monthly meeting is up to two a month to cope with demand from members wishing to attend.
not trying to put anybody off p6 club at all .. and this is the main club for rovers after all.! just trying to see if any other rover owners care to bring a car or self to a meet. very friendly bunch. have put car in for a run from Hainault to Southend end of june ( if I get it running by then .. oh dear stress)
that classic car run is organised by yet another club. but all welcome. lets hope all clubs can work with each other to keep our cars etc alive and being enjoyed by many.
just trying to be freindly here and see if another rover owner locally cares to attend. be nice to chat especially if it too is a p6.

Hi Classicalgreen,
Are you from Essex?
The P6 Rover Owners Club have 2 monthly meetings in the Essex area and 23 other regional meetings.
Full details of our meetings are published in the P6 News members magazine, one meeting is in Rochford and the other in Grays (assuming you are from Essex).
You will be made very welcome at any P6ROC meetings. For details of joining and our National Show at Waddesdon Manor on 4th August in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, visit website www.p6roc.com
Kind regards

Hi classicalgreen

Welcome to the forum.

You mention that you've joined two clubs

Can you clarify what you mean by "this one" please? This forum has no affiliation to any single club and you've posted this in the Lounge rather than in one of the club specific sections. This is a forum for all classic Rover owners.

The Rover P6 Club has 2 branches in the London area. Have a look at the club website Rover P6 Club for details. If you scroll down the left hand menu you will see "Branch Meetings" at the bottom.

Why not come along to our joint Jubilee celebrations at Coughton Court at the end of June. I'm sure you'll meet people from your area who will be able to help.

Hope that helps

Dave

This site is not affiliated to a particular club :) Entirely independent.

I thought that's what I said :?

Can I give Mr R/D at least a yellow card, please let me, actually I'm not asking permission, Mr R/D you receive your yellow card  taken me 2 years to be able to do that.

update . re 2 clubs . I was a member of havering car club but moved out of area. still a member of rover p6 owners club ( Deborah could have found me on her members site if I had quoted my number ) and now a member of Clacton Classic car club. so one rover club. one local club and not claiming this forum . (though have logged in ..does that count as a member ? lol)
aware this forum has wider user base and is not a one marque club etc and I think thats is very much to its credit. many owner of classic cars are open to communication .advise etc with owner of completely different makes and models. I can understand having a one car model club etc but I rather enjoy they many variations of cars one can see and owners stories etc. hence one of the rare events i do attend when I can is Plough corner where clacton classic car club run a couple of time s year. it welcomes any make.model including motor cycles .I think only proviso was must be over 25 years old.
having a few hundred cars all different is what attracts people . cant see much point going to a show where every single car is almost exact replica car next to it.reminds me a car park at Fords ! seen one you've seen em all. will got to NEC show (Nov 17) as been to last 2 . probably be last one for a few years as I find the travel and expense getting beyond justification with better half.
godlike with own cars and enjoy when you can as finishing line for all cars seems to be on horizon ..fuel stoppages etc 2040 ?
