Classic Car Rally at Friston, Suffolk

I was invited by a friend who is a member of a local Classic Car Club to go to a rally yesterday at Friston in Suffolk. The rally is known locally as Classics On The Green, I believe. I was totally surprised as to how many cars and motorcycles, pre-war and post-war, were there! There was well over 100 cars and bikes. The surprising part was that it was a weekday. I saw more vehicles there than some of the rallies I have attended on a weekend. The atmosphere was exhilarating!
I met the very nice 'Suffolk Pete' there who had his lovely P6 with him and had a great chat with him. It was nice to meet someone from this great forum. We had a chat about his Tobacco Brown P6 and about a couple of the differences between his 2200SC and my 2000TC. I pointed out to him that his over-riders on the front bumper were set different to mine and also I had fitted the rubber sleeves on the front bumper mounting bars different to his (which I may change after seeing Pete's). I have to admit his car is in beautiful condition and I hope 'The Minstrel' comes up to somewhere near the same by the time I am finished.
I met some other wonderful people from different car clubs, not just Classic Rover clubs. There was 2 beautiful P5's and a very nice P4 there. The event was mainly British classic cars but there were a few American classics in attendance.
The weather was perfect and all in all it was a fantastic afternoon. I can't wait for the next Classic Car Rally in a couple of weeks. I hope to maybe meet a couple more of you from this forum.
