CHANGED MY COLOUR

HI EVERYBODY.
Well I enyoy the forum and read the posts regulalary. So it is about time for me to post the latest hapenings here. Let me explain how the colour changed from white to grey, and that is not my hair which is mostly grey anyway and nearly went white. This happened on the way home just after rush hour traffic when a Mercedes stopped suddenly whilst merging onto moving lanes of traffic, causing frontal damaged to Rover.
My insurance co wrote White Rover off even though I felt he could have been repaired within the insurance policy. All a bit sad as I had done a lot to White Rover and belived that I had got him to a very good standard.
I bought the Rover back and was fortunate to be able to buy a Grey P6 2000 S C with realitvly low miles from Al (Kiwi Rover). So now it's Grey Rover. Grey Rover had a very noisy gear box and make suspicious sounds from the engine on the over-run.
White Rover was stripped of everythig removable and donated its good engine and gearbox to Grey Rover, I took the time while the engine and gear box were out to reset the valve clearences, remake gaskets, fit new seals etc. now when I look underneath I see that we are all oil tight, lovely to look underneath and see a nice clean sump etc.
I hope people aren't upset about me fitting a 2200 engine to an S C, but it is a better engine and i am really enjoying driving what I feel is the ideal P6. Grey Rover is my hobby car and it will be constatly maintained to get him to a good state of health.
Grey Rover.

Hello White/Greyrover! Pleased to hear that you're Rovering on, sounds like you've got a good car using the best bits of both. Surely Al KiwiRover will have told you that we're keen to see photos of member's cars! Piccies please!

Lets have some pics lol. 2200 is a good upgrade for a sc. I would upgrade my 2000 for a 2200 if my 2000 engine was nt such a good engine.

Hi everyone. Hear the latest event from Grey Rover. We were getting ready to across country for the weekend (Tauranga) when a pool of water was noticed underneath. Exploration found that it was coming from the water pump, so of it came, closer examination showed water coming from the drain hole underneath. Now when I rebuilt this engine I had the pump overhauld as I was trying to cover all the bases ensuring trouble free motoring for the future. Well when fitting the 2200 motor to Grey Rover it was found that the radiator is closer to the engine, so the obvious thing to do was swap the pumps, done. I think that this engine must have been stationary for awhile as its pump needs quite a bit of work. Hope fully it will be back on in a couple of days. By way of interest our Honda Jazz did returned on the trip 45.6 mpg, but its not the same.
John.
Pics when I learn how to load them.
