Carpets

Hi, I need both sides of the floor carpet in Mortlake Brown... Bought the car with these missing, so was hoping to replace with proper ones rather than replace the whole lot with a brand new set (everyone seems to say that the originals are better!).

The car is a manual (2000TC) - I understand the carpets for an auto are different due to the size / shape of the transmission tunnel (I can get a set of auto ones from an Ebay seller - how badly will these not fit I wonder?)

Even one side will do to start with if anyone has any lying about, let me know the cost. Thanks, Pete

Hi Pete,

I might have some reasonable ones in my collection, but I'm in East Yorkshire so please let me know if you could collect them before I attempt to look for them...;)

According to my records, I have at least 2 good sets of original floor carpets in the more common ‘Mortlake Brown’, both of the later ‘tufted’ variety.

Hi, thanks for replying! I'm in West Yorkshire, so no problem. I'd be very happy to buy a set from you, that would be fantastic. How do we arrange this? Thanks, Pete

If you can send me your email address via a Private Message, I'll send you some photos. May be a couple of weeks before I do, though.

Hi Phil, did you get the PM? Can send again if not. Am close to getting the car on the road, just some minor indicator / hazards issues and change the wet stuff... Exciting times!

I’m sorry to keep you waiting Pete, but I’ve looked at my spare carpets today & see that the good s/h ones I thought you could have are already gone!

I must update my records better. Again, sorry for messing you about.

Coverdale wheat is the one marked KWTL. It's a nice match. But the Martrim beige is spot on... But looking at the fading almost anything will do...

If you look at the covered, completely unfaded strip near the center Mortlake is a lot richer brown than we know it with more red in it, but this fades almost right away. We see it as markedly green/yellow.
