Carpet replacement

The head lights are rotten and main beam ones are loose so I've bought a new set of lights and if the weather is kind tomorrow I might start to put them on, that's after I've removed the fuel sender again to see if it's catching on something. This will be the 3rd time I've tried to sort it out so if no luck this time I'll buy a new sender.

Nightmare bud I feel your pain
I did read your post on this it’s a strange one I know you tested it but could the float be at fault?
Harvey is the one to speak to if I spelt his name correctly nothing he doesn’t know about a P6 also Cobra and others I would agree with you though just replace it after taking it out constantly.
sorry I can’t give your more info on that as have never happened to me. Lovely nice new headlights the bullet connection can cause problems mine was silver until I cleaned them up and they looked like brass

Well the Pfennig (German currency) went out in 2002 (replaced by the Euro) so it may well have been to Germany in the late 90s! The decimal 1/2 pence went out in 1984. That coin upside down above the 1/2 looks like it may be a two bob bit? (1971!!) The 10p looks like an older one which went in 1993... I think!

Hi Hobby, yes the car was in Germany for its first 3 years according to the guy I bought it from. Its a 1972 but first registered in 1975 according to the V5. It also has what I believe to be export number plate lights they are 2 separate units instead of the usual single rectangular unit with 2 bulbs

Yeah !! I've now got a working fuel gauge so no more guessing and keeping a gallon can in boot ( just cry watching it head to empty fast lol ) .
Dare I admit that the float was full of fuel and I had not noticed it ! Not once but twice I've missed a simple obvious fault , mind the first time I did find the resistor wire broken .
Did not get time to start headlights but took car for a test run and realised I've not put seat belt buckles back on so a little job after tea I think .

Could that be because it was registered in Germany for the first 3 years? I doubt any dealer would have had it on their forecourts for 3 years!!
