I have a lage double garage with restricted height equal to the height of a standard room about 2.5 mtrs. Any recomendations regarding a ramp lift 2or4 post or even a scissor's lift.

I'm hoping to have a double garage next month. It will have a 2.8m high roof.

Even with a 2.8m high roof, when a P6 is 1.42m high, you'd only get it a maximum of 1.38m off the ground.

With your 2.5m roof, you'd only get it 1.1m (approx 3 1/2 feet) off the ground.

Unless you're particularly 'vertically challenged', I'm not sure what advantage you'd gain with a ramp/lift? :)

Ah - I can certainly see how the ramp would be more useful then :)

I know Pilkie bought one (A new 4 post one from eBay I think) a couple of years ago, and seems quite pleased with it - a few more details can be found here: viewtopic.php?f=21&t=5267&start=135 .

I've been hoping to buy a 4 post ramp myself for a while, but I'm not sure I'll have the headroom to make it useful for me, or the required length in the garage.

My preference would be for a secondhand ex-garage one, but these tend to be on the large side. Some of the (brand new) ones on eBay are smaller, but I've not used one yet so can't give much advice.

Good luck :)

Thanks for the link, the garage height looks the same as mine without the ceiling the other option might be a lift that I'v seen where they just tilt at the car back or front so they only have restricted height.

What about lifting the car to the roof and then having a shallow pit under to allow you access
below with your chair? It will always be a compromise as far as access is concerned but it will
certainly give you more options than tipping the car on it's ends for anything more than
suspension work.

I like the idea of the combination of a lift with a shallow pit, I am getting a new manual wheelchair that has a drive system realy high tech so a shallow ramp/pit would not be an issue.
