Bumper repair

Hi, what's the best method of repairing a bumper with a small hole in it? Other than buying a new one, that is! The hole is only about 3/4 of an inch, maybe 15mm or thereabouts. It's on the nearside top, just inside the over-rider, was thinking maybe I could dremel out the edge of the hole and plug it with a grommet for now, just to stop it getting Worse. Maybe it would be a good place for a rear fog light ?

Are there any specialist repairers / rechromers anyone can recommend, preferably in the Yorkshire area? I'm guessing they could weld it up and rechrome it?

Oh. Never having removed or fitted any, I did not know that was even possible! I think I'll give it a go (probably try clean up the hole a bit first, maybe a spot of rust cure on the edge of the hole /inside. Thanks!

look behind the overriders and you will see how they are retained with a bolt pressing on a piece that is shaped to the curvature of the bumper. loosening the bolt should enable you to move them sideways. Sometimes you might need more hands to keep things in place while you tighten the bolt. At the rear watch out for the overrider turning on the bumper and coming into contact with the boot lid.

The challenge will probably be undoing the bolts :(

They get very rusty in the over-riders & sometimes the captive nut (in the over-rider) breaks free.
