breather pipe

hi there , i removed the air filter that is between the air cleaner and the block at the rear of the engine , only to find the right angle pipe fitting into the block is loose.
Can someone tell me how it is attached to the block? is it pressed in? can i cement it in place somehow?
I have pulled it rearwards as far as it will go and it seems to have "fixed" itself tight, but with some engine vibration im sure it will come loose again.
Any help appreciated , thanks Karl

It's just a push fit. If you can pull it out then you could put some Loctite around the pipe and push it back in.

I hate that sort of fitting! There is a steel T piece pressed into the MX5 alloy thermostat cover that commonly rusts off and leaves a messy problem.

Would you believe - cleaning a 94 Disco 3.9 (casting marked 02 94) for a rebuild. Asked elsewhere about the rear of block breather...there is a hole in the right place for the early breather, plugged with a little welsh plug (like the oil galleries). Its a tad over 0.5" dia. The hole is in a raised boss in the casting, so its intentional, not done after production.

AFAIK all 3.9 engines had that hole with the core plug in, I'm not sure about the bigger varients having it though.
