Hi everybody,
I'm from Germany and new in this forum. I'm driving a 1968 2000 TC model (registered Jan. 1969 in the Netherlands). I have to change the rear brake discs and to renew the brakes. This is done in a garage and the mechanic needs to know if it is Girling brakes or something else. Can someone help me? Thanks in advance,
Markus

Hi Markus

You will have girling brakes on your car, only the very early cars had dunlop.
Discs and pads are fairly easy to obtain, you will need a special piston wind back tool for fitting the pads, although it can be done without it, if you know whats involved! If the calipers are coming off the car then just turn the piston back as far as poss before fitting it all back onto the car. Adjustment is made once the brakes have been bled by operating the footbrake and handbrake, the adjuster ratchet will take up the slack until they fit snugly.
Speak to Ian at rover classics, there is a link to him on the suppliers page!
