Brake hoses

if you'd like to upgrade I've used Goodridge Stainless braided hoses for a good ten years and they've held up well.

I wonder how often one is supposed to renew them. I had a front fitted one fail in the Austin last year, after an emergency brake. It must have been fitted for something like 20 years. So i replaced all of them promptly with conventional rubber ones, that at least can be inspected easily.

Good question. Goodridge has a good reputation for quality. That counts for a lot in my experience

I have used Geoff at wins, order also the hoses and more stuff, I did see that ordering in holland
can be almost tripple in costs, like a slave clutch cilinder who cost 21 pounds and here 82 euros
ex shipping. master break cilinder here costs 117 ex fat and on the english seller 58 pounds ex vat
this do help keep costs in balance when ordering in england.

Unfortanely I have no credidcard and I do not want one.

So I can not order, this is little stupid she get less customers. we have paypal.

Yes, these used to be genuine Goodridge parts. But still, they were probably too long in the tooth.
I reckon that anything above 10 years old and you are taking unecessary risks. Especially for us, mere mortals with single line systems.

These days that ordering from UK is far too complicated for my liking, for brake hoses i tend to use local hydraulic shops. Usually they have no problems to copy the original hoses, either in rubber or teflon.

You can issue a prepaid card to help you ordering the parts from UK. Certainly the bank will take its unfair share everytime you top it up, but that's life these days.
